August 24

Volunteer Terry Hogan hoes out some corn. We are preparing to work the harness onto the horse and in this area the hames protrude into the corn. Our surveying volunteers David Gray and Gord Haggerty completed the layout a couple of days before and now we're waiting for a clear day when Bob Douglas is available to take aerial shots of the process.

Loading the corn to use as cattle feed so it won't be wasted.

September 1

Labour Day and today the harness goes on. It feels odd to be in a field with an airplane buzzing you as you work, occasionally talking to the pilot by cell phone. It took about three hours to complete the job and Bob took shots the whole time so that we could use them to animate the process in the flipbooks that are in development as souvenirs. While at the field I also was speaking to William Moore and Les Szurkowski about specific shots that they needed. (When this project is over the people at Cantel will be wearing black armbands.) We put on all of the harness except for the tugs and in another couple of weeks at the match Joe will finish off the picture by hooking up the horse.

Approaching and then finishing up in the blinder to complete the harnessing.
